I’m a 37-year-old chemistry professor with diminished ovarian reserve. I started this blog three years ago to keep close friends and family updated about our infertility treatment, as a therapeutic outlet for my feelings about infertility and pregnancy loss, and as a place to store all the random science facts that I never wanted to know about human reproduction and infertility treatment…

/ June 7, 2013I also have diminished ovarian reserve and just started a blog myself. Anyhow, was searching through blogs with DOR as a key word and stumbled upon yours. Would love to follow your journey as my husband and I embark on ours as we are about to begin our first IVF. Just wanted to say hi.

/ June 24, 2013US ‘DIMINISHED OVARIAN RESERVE’ GALS CAN STICK TOGETHER 😉 I’VE LOOKED AT THE CHARTS AND I HAVE THE RESERVE OF AN AVERAGE 43 YEAR OLD, DESPITE BEING 36. GROUP HUG!
(Ps sorry for all caps! My phone is being glitchy. First time I have ever shouted “GROUP HUG”! Must be somewhat off-putting…

/ August 30, 2013hi, just stumbled across your blog while doing online research prior to my first IVF cycle. just went through the ODWU at CCRM, it’s quite overwhelming. also, I’m a member of the Resolve support group (Isabella28) if you want to PM me there, always looking for cycle friends in similar stages of the process. best of luck to you.

/ October 16, 2013Hi, you sent @ivffervescent some questions re DHEA a while ago which the Centre for Human Reproduction have now answered. As @ivffervenscent had to delete her blog she has nowhere to publish these questions and has asked me to put them on my blog. Would you be happy for me to add your blog name next to the question you asked? No pressure if you’d rather I didn’t! X

/ October 16, 2013Why did IVFfervescent have to delete her blog? I had hoped she was just too busy to update. 😦
I can’t remember what question I asked, but that’s fine to list my blog if you like

/ October 16, 2013It did a weird thing when she posted the link to Twitter and showed her full name which she wasn’t happy about ay all! 😦

/ November 21, 2013Dear Infertile chemist,
I am a scholar with a D.C. think tank, working on a project on Catholic women’s views on the Church’s teachings related to sexuality and reproduction. I saw in an earlier post that you are a Catholic and have reflected thoughtfully on the Church’s views towards IVF. If you are willing, I’d like to ask you a few follow-up questions to better understand your experiences and perspective. Please let me know if you would be open to such a conversation.

/ March 5, 2015Hi! I googled androderm and HGH with fertility today, and found your blog. I’m so excited! i’m a hs chemistry teacher, and it’s so nice to find someone else out there who loves her data along with her I.F. b.s.! LOL. Anyhow – since your blogged stopped in spring of 2014, I assume you had a beautiful little baby. I hope all is well with you. I’m just starting androderm tomorrow night, and doing lupron next fri, and hopefully starting stim & HGH & low-dose HCG next sunday. Wish me luck! I look forward to digging further into your blog.
Hope all is well!

/ June 19, 2015Just ran across your blog after my second cancelled IVF due to DOR (AMH 0.16). You are hilarious and reading your entries has helped me cope with some of this sadness and disappointment. I’ve gotten the donor egg speech but not ready to give up yet.
In July 2013 you talk about micronized DHEA. Would you mind sharing what brand you used? I was planning on giving that a shot as a last ditch effort.
knalani
/ June 19, 2015Ugh! I’m so very sorry that you’re going through this! The DHEA I used then (and am back on now that we are trying for #2) is made by MRM.

/ November 11, 2015OMG, I stumbled across your blog while doing some research on my own menopur + IUI cycle and recognized Dr. Y, Dr L, and NP. D from your posts. I didn’t realize that they do IVF! If you can contact me via email, I’d love to compare notes.

/ March 20, 2017Hi, I wanted to wish you congrats on your pregnancy. I’ve been following along with your blog for the past couple years since realizing you see the same providers I do, and also have DOR. Thank you for all of the insights and knowledge you have shared on this site. I will be praying for a healthy pregnancy and baby for you.
